The Votronic Battery Master ensures that a vehicle’s starter battery is trickle-charged whenever the leisure battery is being charged; either from a mains charger or a solar panel. This makes it ideal for motorhomes, campervans, even boats when they’re in storage and helps to avoid damaging the battery.

The unit is completely automatic and operates only when it senses a charging voltage at the leisure battery, keeping the batteries electrically separated otherwise. The amount of current diverted from the charging source will vary depending on the charging conditions but it is limited to 3A maximum. The starter battery cannot be over-charged because the charging voltage is reduced by 0.6V before reaching the starter battery.

Fitting is simple and does not require any changes to the existing electrical system. The unit is connected to the two batteries using a small gauge cable and suitable fuses which are installed between the Battery Master’s terminals and the positive terminals of the two batteries. 

Suitable for use with lead-acid batteries only (not for use with lithium technology) where both batteries have a nominal system voltage of 12V.
