Semi-flexible solar panels are ideal for situations where a rigid panel can't be installed. Light weight and discreet appearance are added advantages.
We stock two types of semi-flexible panels, both from NDS. LightSolar panels are designed for applications where low weight, low profile and ruggedness are essential. These factors, combined with high efficiency of 18.75%, flexibility of 5% and the ability to "self-repair" make these panels ideal for use on motorhomes, caravans and boats. There are three versions of LightSolar including one with the junction box on the back of the panel. This is intended specifically for use on campervans with pop-tops.
Main features of LightSolar panels are:
Rugged construction.
"Self-repairing" ETFE surface.
18.75% efficiency.
7-layer construction
Mono-crystalline cells.
Can be walked on (with suitable footwear)
3M of single cable supplied.
NOTE: Please see the installation information PDF below. This only applies to LightSolar panels.
When greater flexibility - up to 30% - is needed, SolarFlex EVO panels fit the bill. These panels are also the lightest you can get, with a 150W version weighing in at just 2.2Kg. Other important features of SolarFlex EVO panels are:
Multiwire cells, which greatly increase current flow and ensure optimum efficiency even at high temperatures.
Low power loss when shaded.
20% efficiency.
Mono-crystalline cells.
9-layer construction with hard-wearing ETFE surface.
